The Mirage Las Vegas Hotel And Casino Resort Review For 2024
The Mirage Las Vegas Casino Resort
The Mirage is a 4 1/2 Star Rated Las Vegas Hotel and Casino: The Mirage, by any standards changed Las Vegas as we know it today. When Steve Wynn developed the property in 1989 it was the most expensive Las Vegas Casino/Hotel ever built at a price of over $600 million. The 3,044 room mega resort was financed with Wall Street junk bond money as many future properties would be. It brought in enough money in 18 months to pay off its construction loans when it should have taken seven years at a million dollars a day.
The economy had been falling off in Las Vegas for decades and especially after gambling became legal in other places like Atlantic City and Vegas needed a shot inn the arm. And of course the advent of Vegas online gambling sites didn't help either. It got it with this upscale property and it turned the tide for tourism. It was seen by many as a folly or a spectacle but the lure of outside attractions such as the volcano that we still see today (albeit much improved) is what began a trend that changed the face of Las Vegas forever.
Today the property bills itself as "An Oasis Within an Oasis" and still offers a high quality vacation experience. The rooms, suites, and villas are all top notch. The so called Standard rooms are rich in tasteful details, the suites are spacious and plush, and the villas beyond elegant - they are sumptuous and offer you your own backyard patio with greenery and lush colorful plants. Their most opulent and spacious villa is over 4,500 sq ft and has three bedrooms, a whirlpool in the bathroom, a lap pool, spa, and fountain on the patio and a host of amenities truly fit for a sheik.
In the tie that the Mirage has been anchoring the Strip entertainment has evolved beyond simply headliners- it has become about shows, clubs, and attractions. The Mirage has all this covered for you. Currently (be sure to check their web site or call your Host) Cirque du Soleil brings you LOVE featuring the songs of the Beatles. Their Aces of Comedy series hosts the greatest names in stand up, and the ventriloquism and celebrity impressions of "America's Got Talent" winner Terry Fator will keep you in stitches and in awe.

When the Mirage opened they raised the standard in Las Vegas dining and they hold that line and exceed it today. The fine dining opportunities available cover the cultural gamut with everything from an unlimited Brazilian barbeque experience at Samba Brazilian Steakhouse to dining in a tropical rainforest setting at Kokomo's. Of course there are snack bars, delis and cafes for a quick bite or casual dining as well. And many of the bars and lounges have appetizers, snacks and quick meals available any time.
There are eleven bars and lounges placed throughout the property for you nightlife entertainment including BARE - a topless adult pool experience, one of many now on the Strip. Be prepared to be pampered to the nines at poolside with ultimate VIP service. Enjoy the sun bare while being secluded from the outside world by towering palm trees.
There are two luxury dipping pools and you can rent a cabana or day bed and enjoy European style luxury and pitchers of ready made cocktails and specialty food items. Adults 21 years of age and older are allowed. Private parties can be booked for the venue.
Shopping opportunities include Designer Fashions, The Watch Boutique, King Ink, The Art of Music, LOVE Boutique, and Logo and Gift Shops.
The services at the Salon and the Spa are exquisite and the Mirage has developed several packages that should be looked at before deciding on any one aspect of this experience. A co-ed fitness facility is also available for a fee.
A High Limit Lounge is offered for their most valued guests but all guests are welcome to the amenity of concierge service if you would prefer someone else to take care of the details for you. The High Limit Lounge has three semi-private gaming areas, dedicated casino cages for your privacy, and private buffet and dining areas.
Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow and Pai Gow Poker are all available for play as are many other table games. Network and local Progressive slots are ready for play and wagers can be as little as one penny or as much as 1,000 a spin. Jackpots as high as a million dollars are ready to fall in the High Limit Lounge.

The Las Vegas Weekly named the Poker Room at the Mirage "The best poker room in Vegas". Another option for entertainment is the Race and Sports book. At over 10,000 sq ft this facility has large screen action. It is one of the largest most sophisticated race and sports books in Nevada.
